Job Title: Account Manager – Transport & Logistics

Reports to: Operations Manager

Industry: Transport & Logistics

Location: Nairobi

Gross Salary: KES. 80,000 – 90,000

Job Purpose: Your core priority is addressing customers’ needs and concerns as quickly and effectively as possible to develop and maintain strong relationships.

Our client is a transport and logistics company that specializes in both long and short distance haulage for local and export destinations. Their services range from complex warehousing and distribution to tailor-made end -to-end supply chain solutions.


  • Supervising and allocating duty roaster to the logistics and outer yard team to ensure delivery targets for contracted lanes within the client’s Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met and exceeded.
  • Protecting the company’s Brand Equity and effectively manage relations with all internal and external customers. Consistency in representing the company in attending client meeting.
  • Chairing daily morning meetings with your team as a channel to ensure the team deliberates on all pertinent hand-over issues and give focus to all processes and process-holders.
  • Attending drivers’ tools box meeting and addressing any operational concerns raised and escalating those that need management attention.
  • Coordinating all operations and direct resources and communications to ensure company and truck needs are met and ensure smooth and efficient coordination between field and office.
  • Resolving all delivery issues in real time either personally or by appropriate delegation to the right person but must follow up to ensure smooth operations.
  • Oversee and periodically evaluate the performance of the team including Admin Clerk and Logistics Planners based in your station.
  • Must embrace a strong safety culture for all fleet and staff. Must also spearhead and take full control of all our clients safety audit models to ensure the company operates under the clients standard if not above.
  • Supervising and ensuring accuracy in preparation of comprehensive narrative and statistical daily/ weekly/ monthly analysis and reports for management.
  • Assisting the Head of Operation in handling operational communications and procedures between clients, Administration teams, Security Teams, Safety Teams, Field Teams and Yard Teams, to ensure instant resolution of any upcoming issues and challenges.
  • Any other duties as may be directed by Head of Operations.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field
  • At least 5 years’ experience 2 years in a similar position
  • Strong Customer Service & good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Great planning and organizational skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Customer & Client Focused Innovation: Gives options and advice and innovations when needed to address customer/client needs.
  • Driving Delivery of Results: Takes accountability for improving the business and demonstrates a sense of urgency around the achievement of stretching business goals
  • Willingness to take personal initiative and accountability, self-starter
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
