About the position

The HR Assistant is responsible for compiling and maintaining up to date employee records, assisting with the daily administrative operations of HR department, interacting with employees, and providing general office support.


  • Conducting research on Best Practice and topical HR issues in line with the changing work environment.
  • Maintenance of HRMS by ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Updating of HR Policies in line with Labour Laws and other Statutes in the Region.
  • Updating the timesheet-tracking schedule on a monthly basis and Maintaining work schedules for every department sharing with the HR Office on a monthly daily basis.
  • Shortlisting, scheduling, organizing and facilitating interviews.
  • Assist in timely administration of personnel records and payroll
  • Assist in the implementation of the performance management system.
  • Assist in the rolling out of the training programs.
  • Timely communication to candidates about the results of their interviews.
  • Requesting references and checking the suitability of applicants before submitting their details.
  • Proper filing and update of personnel files in respect to application documents, interview notes, statutory information and leave.
  • Assist in preparing interview outcome reports for all interviews attended.
  • Establishing and maintaining staff and partners/stakeholders contact information.
  • Setting up objectives and keeping track of the performance of staff under his/her supervision.
  • Maintaining the work structure by ensuring constant updating of job requirements and job descriptions for entry-level positions.
  • Compiling a report of disciplinary cases to be discussed by the Corrective Action
  • Submitting weekly/Monthly reports as directed by the HR Manager.
  • Maintain a database of prospective candidates by going through resumes, organizing interviews and updating the database with qualified candidates.
  • Conducting other administrative/Executive support duties as assigned by HRM.
  • Any other duty as may be assigned by your manager.

  • Degree in Human Resource Management

  • strong oral and written communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of the labour laws and the Employment Act.
  • High degree of self-motivation and initiative;
  • Maintain standards of conduct, demonstrate sound work ethics
  • Experience in handling people from multicultural environment.
  • Be flexible, adopt to different working environments and systems
  • Be excellent in use of computerized systems with advanced typing skills.
  • Excellent Communication with good command of the English Language.
