Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operating tractors and attachments of difficult rating B ( One of which must be motor graders and ploughing tractors).
  • Keeping monthly records of the plants.
  • Preparing monthly and weekly service schedules and ensuring that they are adhered to.
  • Guiding turn boys and machine Assistants.
  • Repairing minor defects on machines.
  • Liaising with officers in charge for major repairs.
  • Charged with ensuring safety of the tractor.
  • Charged with ensuring that the tractor is in good condition.
  • Ensuring cleanliness of the tractors.
  • Assisting in training junior tractor operators.

Requirements for Appointment

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D- (Minus) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Have passed the suitability test for tractor operators/Drivers Grade III;
  • Possess a valid Driving Licence free from current endorsements for class (es) of Machine(s) that one may be required to operate;
  • At least two (2) years previous satisfactory driving experience,
  • Certificate of Good Conduct from Directorate of Criminal Investigation;
